dc.description.abstract | An experiment was conducted at the experimental field of the Department of Crop
Botany and Tea Production Technology, Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet, during
the period from 10 April to 25 August 2013 to evaluate the morpho-physiological
attributes and yield performance of nine advanced genotypes and five varieties of
soybean in acidic soil. The tested genotypes and varieties were Binasoybean-1,
Binasoybean-2, Shohag, BARI Soybean-5, BARI Soybean-6, SBM-9, SBM-15, SBM-17,
SBM-18, SBM-20, SBM-22, SBM-73, SBM-78 and BAU-S/70 used as experimental
treatments. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design
(RCBD) with three replications. The result revealed that there was significant differences

and economic yield in acid soil. Both genotypes showed
better growth performance and produced the highest grain yield due to superiority of
yield attributing characters in acid soils than the other genotypes. Therefore, BARI
Soybean-5 and SBM-78 are possibly to be preferred as acid soil tolerable genotypes than
others. | en_US |
